iPad 2 – All for the sake of vanity? Or is it really useful? I’ve been playing with it for the past few days. I have taken a liking to reading e-books with Kobo on public transports, harvesting crops in Smurfs’ Village and watching TVs.

But here’s a few minor rants:

  • No official Facebook or Window Live Messenger applications for iPad?
  • Bleeding issues on the screen
  • I absolutely hate the Belkin case. It’s the worse design ever! Let me have a “special” rant post for it when I’ve the time to take pictures of it.
  • Wireless hanging issue? It just doesn’t connects and a restart is required to get it working. Even though it only happened once, it’s bothering me.

I’ve got the black one because IT’S MY COLOUR! Honestly, I’m not too fond of the white, yes it’s a new colour and yes it may look more special indeed, but I just feel that it’s not as white as I would like it to be. It’s a bit of off-whitish and too plasticky for me. :?:

Smurfs' Village - My Town!

What’s your take? Vanity? Convenient? Cool?

I went Prive Bakery Cafe last Sunday with Sissy, Chewy and Francis. Within 5 minutes there, I can only say the service is really horrible. Perhaps if we were to “dress up” and do not look too much like local Singaporeans, we would have had a better service experience. We were ignored when we entered the cafe and decided to choose our own seats since none of the waiters and waitresses were willing to come forward to attend to us. The funny thing is when a Caucasian walks into the cafe, all of them rush forward to serve him. So much for good service huh? Apparently, we weren’t the only one with the bad experience.

Blogging once or twice a month is totally not my style but I guess I’ll have to do something about this blogging habit of mine. It’s rare for me to find some time to sit in front of my computer during the Weekends. I am either at work or out for the day (Shopping!) during the weekends. o.O

As I was saying in my previous post when I first got my iPhone, the apps are what drove me get the phone and I have been exploring the Apps Store the past few weeks trying out all the various apps. I thought I would share some of the apps I’ve tried so far. :)

Twitter for iPhone

Twitter for iPhone

A free app for Twitter, formally known as Tweetie which seems to be a pretty popular app for Twitter. There are only a few things I don’t like about this app. The design/interface has too much white and thus may not be as easy to read as compared to some other apps. In addition, the lack of the traditional retweet style really puts me off. I got to admit I’m not a fan of the native retweet style build-in with the official Twitter. Besides that, I would definitely recommend this app (not to mention, it became free after Twitter acquired it).

WeetApp

WeetApp

The only paid app for Twitter I have tried. Priced at USD 0.99, it has potential to surpass the official Twitter app in my opinion. I love the clean and sleek look of the application especially the way your tweets and mentions are highlighted in another colour in the timeline. Not to mention, the planned update next week will include the traditional retweet style. Although I have experienced some issues with it such as not being able to upload photo to Twitpic via the app sometimes, it’s still pretty good for a new app.

Some missing features I’m looking at seeing in the future (some are planned for the next update): Geolocation support, “Reply all” feature, @ followers list when sending tweets and would also prefer the shortcut menu to appear when we swipe across the screen rather than clicking on the tweet.

Hipstamatic

Hipstamatic

Hipstamatic is my all time favourite camera app! Priced at USD 1.99, it only comes with the basic “lenses” and “films”. There are 5 in-app purchases at USD 0.99 each with more lenses, effects etc. Most of the time, the photos captured really do look like the ones taken with the real toy cameras! It’s fun to play with though I would say the price on iTunes doesn’t reflect the total cost of the app. Strictly speaking, the actual cost of the entire app is USD 6.94 with all 5 addons. It’s totally worth it! One issue I have with this app is the extremely small viewfinder because all the photos are cropped. I would definitely love to have a larger viewfinder though.
