I have just started to realise that I had weird sleeping habits now after almost half a year of school-less days. I now slept at around 4 AM and wake up in the afternoon at around 12PM, that’s about 8 hours of sleep. But, the timing is just not right. I need to get back to my old habits and sleep before 1AM. If I don’t, I can’t imagine what would happen when school starts early in the morning. I prefer to work with my stuff at night, wonder why. So, Dayna’s now officially known as the night cat by her friends. Mum’s going to kill me when she knows I slept so late when she’s not home . But I notice that I work better after the sun sets, no matter whether what I’m doing and I preferred to work at night too.

Tomorrow there is a FOC Convention Programme at Ngee An Polytechnic. So, I’m meeting a group of friends to go together. Anyway, I was browsing through the programme list just now. It doesn’t look that appealing as I thought it would be. A few hours of speech made by the principal. Talking about the principals of polytechnics, my sister told me that she had only meet her/him (I’m not sure) twice in her 3 years of education there. I was pretty shocked when I heard that. So, she told me that at normal circumstances, we only meet the principal once which is tomorrow. o.O Some of them can’t even remember how she/her looks like. Mental note to wake up early tomorrow.

I successfully installed Dodo’s threaded comment hack It works great just that the replied comment shows up wacky in Internet Explorer but it looks fine in Firefox, since I used Firefox, I’m lazy to fix that. Anyway, does anyone know to exclude myself from the auto commenters plug? When I replied a comment, my name was plugged there too and if I replied 3 comments, there are 3 of the same links. :sweat: Dodo’s one for b2 has that function, does WordPress one have that? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

I finally found a way to manage my comments easily and to approved false positive comments again even though I’m using Spam Karma . OSA seems to conflict with a few of my other plugins. I like how most of the plugins are made for WordPress, usually they are easy to install and I just need to activate them in the plugins page after uploading.

I’m meeting Jess, Ben, Sharon and Huaian to go back to my secondary school to take my O level certificates today in the evening since it’s pass midnight already. It’s kind of late but everyone else have school and stuff so we going at a pretty late time. The year book is still not ready o.O !!! I wonder what took them so long. I admit I’m anxious, but who wouldn’t?

So, I think I’m getting to love WordPress more now. :heart: I converted my thoughts and opinions into WordPress pages so that it’s easier for me to update. I’m keeping the rest as static pages. After messing around with the codes for a while, I got the “comments off” to disappear when comments are either closed or not allowed. There are no spams so far and I hope it will stay this way. So, I was thinking of writing a graphic tutorial and installing Dodo’s threaded comments hack some time this week, but the instructions seem so complicated, I can’t imagine what would happen with I mess things up. It was so sad to browse through my archive just now. :cry: It was so empty and cold. Stupid importing failed.

Just my luck, I just installed WordPress 1.5 strayhorn and now there is 1.5.1 with bug fixes etc. Has any one tried upgrading to the latest version? So far, I have no problems or bugs with version 1.5 so I’m still thinking whether to upgrade it or not. Is the upgrade essential with security issues fixed or something critical and important like that? Some of the plugins I’m using are not compatible with the latest version too, so it might not work.

On the later part of the day…

I updated my wordpress to version 1.5.1, it was a breeze. Like Jen said, it was simple, much easier then importing from b2. But, I couldn’t really spot the difference, there were only a few obvious changes. The active themes and plugins are now highlighted in green. A minor change was made to the quicktags on the admin page and when you have a “enable send referrers” error, there is a link to the Codex. My spell checker is the only plugin which is not working for the latest version. I’m looking for a fix for that, I needed that plugin badly. One of my friends comment was listed as a spam (although it was not) and deleted by the Spam Karma, I didn’t even get the chance to moderate it. So, I’m trying out the OSA recommended by Brenda now to see if it works well. Other than that, I think other positive comments go through pretty well.

After spending some time reading through the Matriculation guide 2005, I finally got everything settled and clarified after making some calls to the institution and the CPF Board. I’m not allowed to use my Mum’s account to pay my school fees thus I’m using my Dad’s. So, I’m just not going to hand in the form next Friday, just to get it in before terms start which is on May 24th. I’ve only got about half of those forms filled up but it’s better than nothing. My sister helped me with some of them and after some discussion with her, we’ve one got conclusion – the fees are much more expensive then before.

The school really needs to simplify the registration process. I was thinking just now and wondering why can’t the polytechnic get the students data and profiles from the government or their previous secondary schools? All those data could then be process by the computers and it save work for both the students and the staffs. Wouldn’t that save time and effort for both parties? Everything could be done faster and with fewer problems. They might have a reason for not doing so but just my penny of thoughts though.

I got a sudden urge to write about the act of copying in the Internet world, the article was already up last week but more thoughts filled my tiny brain today after browsering through some sites, thus I did some updating. I’ve been playing around with my web cam today and took a latest photograph of me which is placed in my profile. There are also minor updates done to most of the pages, I did something to the header. The large amount of time on my hands causes me to something I seldom did. I read through my journal archive just now and am quite amused by some entries which I have wrote in the past. It’s always interesting to know how much my thoughts and thinking have changed…

Lastly, the most important thing… I’ve installed smilies for my blog ! I was thinking of doing that for quite some time but I’m lazy. This beautiful animated set of emoticons is from Bubblessoc. Thanks Bubs! I couldn’t resist using them. I increased the line height for the text so that the smilies wouldn’t break the lines. I’m going to put them on the comments too, but it’s still in the process, there’s a few errors cause by the comment forms. Some are in grey while some are transparent, it may look weird but I like a few of those grey ones which are unavailable in transparent. So, that explains why you might see a mixture of different emoticons if that’s what you’re wondering. I’m putting the premade layouts back up soon with new designs and adding more content to the extra section.
