This is going to be my first post in 7 months so please pardon me if I’m shooting randomly. I’m pretty sure no one’s going to be reading this but just for my own references in the future: As some might know, the past year had been a very difficult year for me and I just wanted to thank all the angels in my life who has see me through these times.
I really appreciate how you guys are here for me, picking up my calls at 2am and simply just listening to me. Without your support, I might still be on Titanic sinking… fast.
That aside, I am getting back on my feet and getting my blog back on track! This layout has been hovering around for the past 3 – 4 months and I have finally managed to sit down and work on it. Minimalistic – not my usual style but it really hits close to home. Life is as simple it can gets – friends, family, food, tea & just simply enjoying myself, what’s more in life to ask for?
While I was away, so much has happened AKA lots of upgrades were required both to WordPress and plugins. I am still fiddling with what’s new on the latest version though I highly doubt I will be needing any of the new features (if any). Meanwhile, I got most of the bugs floating around fixed. I did not carry out cross browsers testing so shoot if you noticed anything quirky!
There are so many things I wanted to blog about, to remember in the future and this will be the first. 2011 was the most valuable lesson in my life thus far and I can now tell the world, I’m a better and happier person and most importantly, I am myself.
I was messing around with the Dashboard when I saw this draft which was screaming “please post me” right in my face. Had a glance at the date and it was dated 3 August 2010. So last year in August, I had decided to share some of the weird search queries to the-then-Amour Chaleur but I have no clue why it wasn’t posted.
Here you go…
- How to discipline a noisy child
- (Most) handsome (Malaysian) guy picture
- Why did Haw Par Villa close down?
- Primary 5 student my son teacher too fierce
- Please say hello to your parents in Japanese
- I have no money but need to medical attention
- Chaleur mugs for sale
- Blogshop strategy
- Chaleur pottery
- Why are my hands fairer than my face?
I really wonder why you would find handsome guys photos on my blog? Oh well, I do know a few hot guys though!
Last but not least, the all-time top search… “Universal Studio Singapore“.
Even though I am known to make quick and unexpected decisions but the sudden registration and switching of my blog to dayna.me surprised even myself. I have been wanting to get dayna.com since 2 years ago (when I registered my own domain). At this point of my life, I felt like I have outgrown Amour Chaleur and wanted to take a step further, something more personal, something me.
I thought this name was rather fitting and should be extremely easy to remember/spell as compared to amourchaleur.com as well? On a side note, AC has been renewed for another year 1 week before dayna.me was registered. Currently, I have set auto redirections from AC to the new domain and may not be renewing AC after it expired in 2012. Either that, or I might use it for a new project. Somehow, I have grown to be quite attached to the name Amour Chaleur. Shall see how it goes!
Anyway, what was bothering me slightly was the email address – dayna@dayna.me. Definitely not one of the best and I can’t have me@dayna.me can I?

Clook Internet
With the new domain comes a new host as well. I decided on trying out Clook which was highly recommended by Jem. My first hand experience tells me – you will definitely not regret it. They are absolutely awesome! They took care of the site migration, moving of the host and even troubleshooting to make sure everything was up and running as it should. Although they are more pricey then the usual hosting companies, it’s worth every cent.
As compared to the past, I feel that there are significant improvements in the loading time of the site (hope it’s the case for you as well) and hopefully downtimes will be reduced as well. Give me a holla if you have any issues with the site.
