I know this post title is very unoriginal but all the Audit stuff in my brain is killing my creative cells so you will just have to make do with it. I have actually lost a bit of motivation after reading Terry’s detailed post about our meet-up with Brenda last Saturday but since I’ve decided to blog more this year, I wrote a post about it. I take no credit for all the gorgeous photos of the food. I took the photos from Terry because mine turned out to be quite horrible. Perhaps I was too eager to start on the food and didn’t have the patience to take good photographs of them.

I didn’t tried the steak like the previous time because I didn’t want an overly cooked steak and to avoid chalking up the bill. We had the usual dose of mushrooms and Terry has carrots as well. Coincidentally, both Brenda and I aren’t a fan of vegetables.

I tried the Seabass fillet and I had to say they aren’t really up to my expectation. Even the brownies aren’t as great as the last time. It has almonds in it which taste weird when I’m having it with vanilla ice cream. Almonds and ice cream just doesn’t seem to go well together.

We had a long chat at Marche and sat all the way from 2 to about 5.30 PM. It’s really nice chatting with people of similar interests. I know they can understand and relate to what I’m saying. It’s always good to hear different opinions from people regarding issues we are all familiar with. There are so many things we can talked about such as our common hatred for Internet Explorer 6, weird floating and margin issues, odd scrolling input fields and of course some private gossips of our own. ;)

It’s also really comforting to know that I’m not alone and there are people who think like me. Speaking of which, we have brought up the topic of how a well designed commenting system on a blog will actually attract and encourage more people to comment. I shall talk about this on a separate post because it’s going to be pretty long but I did make some changes to my comments form because of it1. =p

Brenda and Terry also gave me a tip on how to link the site title in the header without splitting the image. The site title is now clickable. Yay! Furthermore, I actually added the previous and next post links to each of my single post page. It’s something I’ve wanted to add in for a long time but I’m too lazy for my own good. All of us agreed it’s more user friendly with the post navigations. I actually got to learn quite a bit of stuff from them that day!

We left at about 5+ PM and walked around Orchard Road, snapping away with our cameras. We saw this tiger made from fresh flowers right outside Mandarin Oriental. I wonder what will happened if it rains. I’m also pretty proud of the photographs I took of the flowers. I thought it wasn’t too bad considering the flowers were swaying due to the strong wind.

Please do not touch!

Both Terry and Brenda were having fun at the water fountains located on the steps outside Ion Orchard. I almost wanted to give Terry a little push right into the fountain and he didn’t realise it while we were there2. I didn’t do it in the end because he was carrying his camera and I didn’t wanted to risk it. :P

Terry

Brenda left to meet her parents for dinner so Terry and I decided to check out Wild Honey cafe at Mandarin Oriental Gallery. It’s a small cosy place to chill out – dim lights, soft relaxing music, comfortable seats, delicious looking sandwiches and tea. What’s not to love? :) I can spend hours there just enjoying my tea. Have I mentioned how much I love their cube sugars? This is the first cafe I’ve been to that actually has cube sugars and provide colouring pens and papers for kids!

Terry has the honour of testing out what the whitish looking powder in the small plate beside the sugar is. It turns out to be salt and I’m glad I’m not the one trying! =p The place seems to be popular among Japanese according to Terry. We have seen quite a number of Japanese sitting beside us. I’m getting all excited for our next meet-up already. Wild Honey, here we come!

Wow looks like you guys had loads of fun! The photos came out great! Terry is very talented photographer. And your photos of the flowers are amazing too ^^ xoxo

Mm, those sugar cubes look great! :D And none of the cafes here seem to be friendly towards children at all, so that’s really very nice. It always seems that children are not welcome in the cafes here because of the way they are set up and everything is so serious – beware of the waitresses with their trays of hot drinks, etc.

I really like almonds on their own and in chocolate. It also goes well with cake. But it is a little weird imagining it with ice cream, maybe unless the ice cream has chocolate topping with almonds.

It’s nice to be able to talk to people who have the same interests as you but I also find it interesting when you don’t agree with each other; you can have such interesting discussions!

I have to admit that I don’t really pay attention to the look of the comments when I visit a website, but if they are incredibly messy and disorganised, I definitely notice. I love your comments though, and the way they are displayed. I have never had a problem with it. :)

That tiger looks amazing; I can’t believe it’s made out of flowers. I hope that it won’t be too affected by the weather! :P

FOODGASM! Those photos are awesome! I adore that last photo of the sugar cubes and also the pictures of the flowers. Cool shots! That tiger is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen, too!

Those pictures are great. I really want some of those crepes. Your comment box does look awesome. I’m still learning WordPress so my comments are pretty basic right now. Hopefully someday I can make it look as good as yours do.

The crepes look so paper-thin and yummy! Also, a tiger made from flowers? That’s pretty cool! Looks like you guys had a fun day!

I’m afraid I can only comment back on the replies today, not the post. But I will try to go online tomorrow and comment on the post.

Thank you Dayna, I just meant it is not registered by law or whatever – though I have to say I’m closing down hosting for a short time soon as long as I get to pay for my Master Reseller.

Well, I don’t want to get it messed up but I certainly will change my password. I have changed it, actually. ;) Thank you so much, I appreciate your concern.

Well, maybe. Though what she is doing (she’s a female) is plainly criticising people. :)

Cool! Looks like you and your girls had fun. I love crepes… especially the ones with chocolates. they’re yumyum!!! =D Is your friend Terry, a photographer? She captures pretty good images. ;)

Wow sounds like such a fun day!! I enjoyed reading about it, as I could definitely imagine how much fun you guys had throughout the day. =D It’s amazing that you have friends who you can relate to and talk about web designing with. I wish I knew someone like that in my offline life.

The photography is great. The flowers looked GORGEOUS and the food, delicious. I especially love the cute tiger made from flowers, but I would really like to know how it is so durable!

The Wild Honey cafe sounded really intriguing as well. It sounds like such a nice relaxing place and those sugar cubes look appetizing! Would love to go there. Where were you exactly?

Also, I must say your site is absolutely amazing. Everything about it is appealing and I love all the cute details. You really did a nice job.

It’s very comforting to know people like these, they are the only ones I can talk to in real life about everything online, web and design related.

We were at Mandarin Oriental Gallery, Orchard Road, Singapore. :) Thanks for the compliments about my blog!

Sounds like a lot of fun to me :D

I honestly like the taste of almonds with vanilla ice-cream though. Maybe my view is biased because I love almonds :)

Btw love your new footer :D I haven’t seen your design here in what seems like ages because my internet is bonkers and decides to die halfway whenever loading any pages and hence I always see naked sites T_T
