I'm sorry but I'm not too sure of the weather either since I seldom go in December. I think the weather should be pretty cold then, perhaps you can google about the weather in Hong Kong. I seriously cannot remember the price for Citygate either, you meant the transport fees to travel to Macau right? I think it's about HKD 100+ per adult.

@Teddy: Yup, so quite a few of their stations have 2 lines. When Circle Line opens, we will have more places to "explore" in Singapore.

Right, their advertising board can stretch 100 meters in length. Maybe it's cheaper to advertise there. Plus the ads are usually very bright and colourful. On a side note, those ads includes porn ads as well. It's so open and you can see porns ads along the street. :lame:

I think it was a prank. When the store owner shouted to ask if it was a kid playing with water, someone threw another bucket of water down again. Definitely have to be very careful walking along the streets of Hong Kong. In addition, their air con drips water all over the place. I often got "hit" when shopping. :frown:

Oh wow, so their interchanges are at most the intersection of two lines eh? I think things are going ot get a little more complicated when our Circle Line opens, because that's when Dhoby Ghaut will be the first station in Singapore to serve three separate subway lines o.O

One thing I remember fondly of Hong Kong (through TV shows and dramas) is that they are exposed to a lot of advertisements! So much so that I guess they're pretty much desensitized to advertisements, so shops will have to make them bigger and bigger, haha!

Phew, thankfully their camera wasn't damaged! I wonder if it was an attack on some random pedestrian below the block or is it simply an absent-minded act of a person...

The photolog entry is awesome. It makes me miss HK so much especially the dimsum pictures you took. But this is only part 1, no? I'm looking forward to the next parts.

Hopefully I'll be able to go to HK at the end of this year too.

Yup, this was actually the first time I'm taking a morning flight. Only the duty free shops were open. I was planning to do some shopping before boarding the plane initially but ...

I love those billboards. It makes the street so colourful and interesting to look at. Plus, we can see new commercials and advertisements without the need to turn on the TV. Isn't that great? =D They have commercials even on the stairs. I love that!

Yup, we have 4 MRT lines including the new circle line. Hong Kong definitely have more than that. But the thing about their MTR system is that they only have 2 MTR lines at each station. It's not like our Outram Park where we have more than 2 MRT lines. :) Yea, plus they have more doors in the train compartment as well. We do not have to worry about squeezing out to the nearest door. Singapore should learn from their MTR system. It's a lot more user friendly.

I think I was so lucky. I heard a few "WTF" coming from the Japanese tourists after they got wet. Well, that kind of reaction should be expected I guess. :lame: They just took out a cloth to wipe themselves dry. The camera seems to be in working condition though. :?:

Wow, amazing photos from your Hong Kong trip, Dayna! Looks like you had a lot of fun and enjoyed yourself fully during the trip - even when you're so tired on the first day. Waiting at the airport for your fllight is one of the things that I loathe of - a morning flight would usually mean one will have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning, yikes.

I've never really seriously read through a photojournal of a HK trip, so yours is my first! I really dig the crowded streets and the closely packed skyscrapers - they remind me so much of Tokyo's downtown core. One thing that amuses me a lot about HK is their super huge billboards in front of the buildings! That's one thing we definitely won't see in Singapore :P heheh.

The map of the MTR system looks a lot more complicated than the ones we see in SG! Wow. It spans almost the entire length of the seats below it. And yea, the empty train station reminds me so dearly of Japanese dramas! I see that the MTR trains also have more vertical poles for people to hold on to than in Singapore - I wish they could add more poles on the MRT trains here, or else we'll be tumbling over whenever the train stops or accelerates.

Oh dear, I cringe when I heard about the unfortunate encounter with water by the Japanese tourist. Luckily you walked away early enough! I guess that's just your luck. So how did they manage to clean themselves up? I will be more worried of their camera, oh gosh.

Have a great Sunday, Dayna!
