It’s been 3 months since Amour Chaleur moved to Holdfire and I decided it’s time for me to tell others how I feel about the services provided by Holdfire. Amour Chaleur was previously hosted at a Singapore based hosting company but due to certain issues whereby majority of my visitors outside Singapore are not able to access the website, I made the decision to move the website to Holdfire in August. It was highly recommended by fellow Snarkers. Holdfire assisted me in moving all my files from the old server to the new one at no cost. It took them a day or so to finish moving all my files which is extremely efficient in my opinion. I did not have to do anything regarding the move aside from giving them my cPanel details.
As my previous hosting plan with another company had not yet expired, Holdfire offered me a contract buyout so that I do not have to pay extra for the excess months of hosting not utilised at my previous host. Technical support is fast as it usually takes them less than 24 hours to reply to my support tickets. Holdfire is also on twitter and sometimes I @reply them with certain questions I’ve as I do not feel the need to raise a support ticket for general enquires. The staff at Holdfire are really friendly people.
During these 3 months, there were no major downtimes as far as I remembered. There was only once when my website was down for about 3 minutes and only a few people (including myself) realised it. It recovered by itself by the time I filed a ticket so I guessed it might just be a small glitch. Other wise, it’s good. The loading time for my website on the same connection is comparable to my previous host (which cost twice as much) which I’ve no complains about.
Affordability is one thing I like most about Holdfire. For a basic plan I’m having, it has a lot more space than how much I actually required at an affordable price for a student like me. It has doubled the disk space for the same plan at the same price during the recent update. To sum up this review, I’m a happy customer of Holdfire and will definitely recommend it!

Ooh! Holdfire sounds like a great host!
I’m pretty happy with Geekstorage and WebHostingBuzz right now. But will check it out should I feel like buying another domain. Thanks for the recommendation!

IF I ever decide to come back to the whole domain thing – which would be way down the road, I was actually considering HoldFire. You’ve convinced me even more.
Jordan is such an awesome person, so I’d be honored to be hosted under her wing.

Holdfire’s services sound nice though I haven’t heard about them. Good to know that you transferred way back and get positive outcome with your current host. They must be really good for having no downtimes, affordable packages, and the stuff.
I am also contented with my current host!

I’ve heard a lot of good and positive things about HoldFire. I think they are a great company/hosting site as well. But I cannot afford it as well. :[ Right now, I have free hosting. It’s good too over at Bubble.nu. I wished I had the money to pay for hosting one day. But for now, I cannot afford it. And tuition is rising and I have to use a lot of money in the fraternity I’ve joined. :[ Boo!! Being poor here. :\
Take care!

I think Holdfire has good features and services but $105/year for a 6gb-Shared plan, I can’t afford it.
My blog is hosted in oh-well.net. Really affordable. Quality’s great, too!

Hmm.. Holdfire seems to be a great hosting site. I’d probably take a look at the site later. My other site is hosted by a local hosting company. Hosting companies are not numerous in my country. I think there are less than 5 here. Because of that the products are more expensive than the global market price. The hosting site I’m with charges a little more than the usual but the service is great. The customer service is really helpful and I’ve never experienced any downtime, which is great.

Holdfire sounds great and I have heard about it from other people as well. I wanted to buy a reseller from them, but while they were affordable, I was still looking for something cheaper.
I think it’s lovely that they offered you a contract buyout! Especially with friendly staff, you can’t go wrong.
Downtime is also a major issue with sites, and it’s great that Holdfire has barely any. Three months and only a few minutes of downtime – that’s more than excellent.
As for your comment on my site, thank you! I have people emailing me with their problems which can easily be solved by Googling some tutorials. Some are complicated but if they read carefully they will understand – instead of bothering other people. In my FAQ people still keep asking the same questions. I don’t mind answering them but the same ones?
Absolutely. People make premade layouts for your use. You might have people out there who make personalised designs, but at a cost. If you want a nice site you should try it yourself. People will be impressed by your layout but imagine their shock when you say it isn’t yours. Haha.
Some people aren’t appreciative of help either. I once made a layout for someone, and after all my work they changed their mind and didn’t use it. Not even a word of thanks.

I plan to get a reseller as well so that it’s easier for me to host my friends’ blog but with my current financial position, it’s a bit too much on my wallet. However, I have plans to get the reseller once I graduate and find a job next year. I was also thinking of getting a separate domain to host my friends’ blog.
The contract buyout is one of the reasons why I decided to switch host even before my previous contract ends.
I don’t mind if they drop me an email or @reply me on twitter with questions if they really don’t know and can’t find the answer. The thing is they did not even try finding out the answer. I have that problem with my FAQ section as well.
That’s really bad! After all the effort you have put in to the layout, they didn’t use it? I wouldn’t offered customised design for free though because I just don’t have the time.

I will say I ran into some issues a while back when I was accused of storing some illegal files. TV shows. Like, a whole season. I wondered where all my space had gone and started deleting everything, to no avail. Still like, no room left on my account. Then lo and behold I get this email accusing me of storing these files and that stuff like that would get me reported to the government. They said they deleted them, and when I denied knowing anything about it, I was rudely told “Don’t lie to us, we know you had them on there. ” With a few more capital letters than I included.
I switched hosting providers. I was completely turned off by accusations, a lack of understanding, AND the fact that someone that wasn’t me somehow stored a whole bunch of stuff on my file space in a folder I couldn’t see or get to. I think I’m the only one who’s ever had a negative experience, and they were otherwise pleasant, so I hope it all works out for you

I’ve heard very good things about Holdfire by lots of people but I can’t afford hosting; if I could I would definitely go to them.
That’s good how you moved over with no problems and that they are always on hand to answer your questions. That’s what makes a perfect host.
As well as no downtime, I visit your site daily and I’ve never noticed any downtime either!
Their plans are quite expensive compared to some web hosts but I guess you have to pay good money for a great host these days!

Actually I find their plans very affordable for students as compared to other hosting companies. For the quality and support I’ve been provided, I feel that the price is reasonable.

Host Gator is good but it's a bit too expensive for me. Sure, I will definitely be updating you.
