I’ve to say this new year started off in the least expected way. I guess some Snarkers like Cherlynn or Chien would know, it is not something I wish to repeat again. My mood has mostly been on the gloomy side the entire week. I managed to cheer myself up by doing some retail therapy and this was what I ordered from Forever21.

Tank tops are my favourites and did I mention the fact that I’m a jacket/sweater collector now? Forever21 has the most gorgeous outerwear! It makes me wish we have winter in Singapore. T_T I haven’t been shopping much other than that and nothing exciting in my life either. School has been busy. I’ve lots of revisions and assignments to catch up before my final mocks in March and I’m trying to squeeze out some time to do my revision. Speaking of which, I think I’ve a low level of tolerance towards school related issues lately.

There’s this particular lecturer that I absolutely cannot stand at all. I just wish he will stop bragging about how good he is. He’s not approachable (and I think that’s an extremely serious problem if you are a teacher), unfriendly and shows a bad attitude to his students. I would describe him as one of the most “insufferable” lecturers I’ve ever came across. When will he ever know that giving the wrong answer doesn’t mean that one is not listening in class? I gave up asking questions in class because he does not answer my question at all. He goes on and on about his own way of solving the question and did not give me a satisfactory reply. I find it a waste of time to post questions in class since I wouldn’t get a reply that answers my question anyway. He’s too persistent on the fact that his way of solving the question is always right.

The fact that he brags about how good his answer and his notes are in every single lesson makes me want to puke. I have to say his notes aren’t one of the greatest. I’ve seen way better notes produce by others but then again, it’s subjective since others may find his notes good. All I wish for is for him to stop showing this “know-it-all-best-lecturer-in-the-world” attitude in class. It’s frustrating for me to see the way he condemns a student because he or she can’t answer one of his questions.

He dislike students talking in his class which is understandable but here’s the problem, he once said “If you are talking about the question, you can ask me. If you are talking about anything else, please get out of the class.”. I understand the latter but why aren’t we allowed to ask the one sitting beside us about the question we are working on if you don’t understand his explanation? I don’t see the point in asking him the question again since like I said, he won’t give us an answer/explanation to our question.

Dear Mr. Lecturer, just in case you don’t know, we are not in the army. We do not have to reply “Yes, sir” loud and clear every time you asked a question. We are not your soldiers and you don’t command me to do anything. You asked a question, we reply (that’s if we wish to) but stop insisting us to reply like we are in the army! Have you ever read the feedback forms we left for you? Maybe you should since I think it will do you good. Having years of experience in the teaching industry doesn’t make you a good lecturer and showing that “I-am-king” attitude in class doesn’t make us respect you either.

I HATE THOSE kinds of lecturers dear! *hugz* No wonder you don’t seem too eager to go to class. I’d wanna drop that subject but being good girl, we can’t do anything :(

I also hate teachers with BIASES. Really now… sighs… I’ve had bad profs too. Howell. Good luck dear!! *hugz*

    Aw, I love Forever21′s stuff!

That lecturer sounds like a real PIA. Is there a way you can report him to the dean? I mean, if enough students complain about him, they’ve gotta do SOMETHING, right?

Your lecturer sounds insufferable :/ It’s really a shame when you get a knowledgeable lecturer (I’m assuming he is at least that, yes?) but it’s not going to be helpful to be taught by someone who knows his stuff if they aren’t good at teaching it.

He sounds frustrating. Probably the best word for it, alongside “arrogant”. I wish you and your classmates luck.

We have teacher too. He’s nowhere near as annoying, to be honest but this guy thinks he is the “it-man”, the one who knows it all. I find that it is impossible to get a straight answer out of this man. Even the simplest question requires pondering, argument and 20 minutes of reason.

I’ve been on the lookout for some good outerwear myself – I have enough coats and long-sleeved jackets but I’ve been looking for some sort of vests and boleros like the one in that photo. It is summer at the moment in Australia though, and they don’t seem to have that stuff on sale. XD

I really dislike bad lecturers who are so know-it-all. I had one last year, who was female. She was always arrogant and talked like she knew everything. Thankfully I didn’t have her as a tutor, only to deliver lectures. My friend had her as a tutor the whole year, and apparently when she was asked a question she just nodded and smiled. That’s of no help at all!

It’s worse when teachers are so stubborn and they won’t answer your questions because they think that everything they say is right. It is also their job to teach, and if students ask them questions they should be able to answer openly and offer help. I also understand that you shouldn’t chat in class, but sometimes you have to discuss the question when the teacher can’t explain it properly. O_O

Teachers with attitude are such a pain. It can often make you dislike the subject if you dislike the teacher. :(

As for the cube chairs you mentioned in your comment, I tried to look for somewhere to buy them but I believe they were custom made for my university. :S Haha, I should try moving them around next time. Usually the security move it around often, but not in a creative way! ;)

Ooh, the ants in the sand sound terrible! The beaches in Australia really are amazing, then… there’s usually nothing in the sand. :P

I’ve had a professor like this. He completely ruined that class for me, and I started disliking the subject altogether (it was biology). Luckily I took the second part with a different professor, and the difference between those two professors was like night and day. I enjoyed the subject so much more and learned tons more, too. I hope that you can find a way to get out of that buffoon’s class. If not, then I hope he doesn’t ruin the class for you.

Mmm shopping :D I love love love online shopping :D I initially didn’t like the idea, but after my friend first introduced me to her world, I enjoyed it loads! The clothes at Forever21 looks absolutely gorgeous! I am sooo tempted to buy some but I can’t since I need to save up :(

Your lecturer is awful. Usually teachers like it whenever students ask questions and would not hesitate to answer properly instead of rambling. I for one, hope not to be like your lecturer in the future. The thought of it is just.. ugh :(

I started to shop at Forever 21 late last year. I kind of like Forever 21. Before, I would not shop there because my mom has this thing over me and doesn’t let me just buy anything I want. But I did it anyways. I bought this dress from there for my Installs party (worn once) and then exchanged it for this black jacket that looks simple and nice (had to pay a little for the difference). The recently, I bought two leggings and a headband. I love their headbands there. I never really bought sweaters or anything of the likes. But I do enjoy Forever 21 clothing. There are many clothes there that looks pretty cute and nice.

I hate one of my professor this quarter. He is such a bad lecturer. No one can ever follow him. Thank god for discussions. My TA is so much more informative than he is. I am actually sitting in this class right now where he is lecturing. :\ *Sigh* I wished I had another professor, but the class itself is interesting. Like the book and discussions. :\ I don’t know…

Ooo! The dress on the picture on the right looks really nice. :)

yikes! That’s the kind of lecturer that nobody likes. It very much reminds me of a lecturer who has the same attitude as your lecturer’s. It is immensely irritating to listen to him showing off his academic achievements. Bleergh, I’ve met better lecturers than him but none of them are braggers like him. Plus, his teaching style isn’t that great at all. Having a doctorate doesn’t mean you can teach. Boo!

I always used to suck up to my teachers. That way, when I did something wrong, they’d forgive me. I was one hell of a chatter box, too! I would always talk, but since the teachers liked me, they would just tell me to be quiet. I used to always talk to my friend who say next to me. And the teacher was getting pissed so she decided to change all of the seats around… she ended up sitting us back next to each other.

    Yeah, lame story. :{
