Journey to “The Coastal Settlement”

The weather was kind yesterday and we finally got to visit the nature-themed cafe – The Coastal Settlement right beside Changi Beach¹. Thanks to Brenda super-awesome geography skills, we have no issues arriving at our location.

Located in the middle of no-where (okay, I’m exaggerating. It’s not the world’s most accessible place but at least 1 bus still runs right to it’s doorstep), it’s a relatively quiet and cozy place to chill. Price is similar to P.S.Cafe but the food is heaps better!

Warning: Do not drool.

Is there even a day where I hang out with Bren and we are NOT camwhoring? No. Period.

We spend much of the day ranting about… the not-so-enjoyable week whereby everything just seems to go wrong. It’s the only day in the past week which I can relax, rant and … just be myself.

Anyway, something new I learn from our trip: according to Bren, AB blood type is a natural repellent of mozzies. Yes, she repelled all the mozzies to me, THE O blood. Sweet and juicy – totally irresistible to mozzies! This sounds like an advert, anyway, the short 15 minutes photographing session “earned” me 4 huge bites. But it’s not going to deter me from going back again. Would definitely be going there again to chill, chit-chat and just enjoy the company of awesome people.

It is extremely far for me since I live on the opposite side of the island.

Blogger’s Camera. Action. Cut! Episode 1

I have finally decided on the blog title for all future blogger’s meet up with the girls – Blogger’s Camera. Action. Cut! Our meet up is more like an unconventional photography session. Impromptu meet up with Brenda and Cherlynn yesterday at Bugis for dinner. Ivy is down with a flu and Terry is still in Malaysia so they couldn’t make it. Somehow, I manage to drag myself from Bukit Batok to town after a long day at work to meet up with the girls. I swear my legs and eyes were deactivating and running low on battery already. We were supposed to meet monthly but due to everyone’s hectic schedule, we haven’t met up since April? Anyway, here are some of the crazy shots we have taken. All photos credit to Brenda!

I feel like my life is revolving around sleep, food and work. I need to get out, blog, socialise (not like I’m not socialising before) more and GET A LIFE! Girls, we are going to stick to the plan and meet up every month. This also reminds me, I should really start blogging more. 20 years down the road while looking back at these photographs, I will laugh at myself thinking “Gosh, I can’t believe I did that!”. I won’t be going to Illuma in the next 3 to 6 months in case someone goes “Oh look, that’s one of the crazy girls from the other day”.

Camwhoring is a blogger’s favourite activity

If you are wondering whether I camwhore then yes I does that a lot! According to Urban Dictionary, Camwhoring is defined as taking pictures of either yourself and/or with your friends excessively. I actually think that bloggers camwhore a lot more than people who does not blog. Correct me if I’m wrong but I seldom see my friends who doesn’t blog at all camwhoring much. It’s sort of like a culture for bloggers to take photos of themselves alone or with their friends everywhere they go to. Most of them carry a camera with them when they leave the house. Am I right to say that fellow bloggers?

Anyway, I met up with Terry and Ivy yesterday for lunch at Marché and the three of us practically camwhore-ed for 3 hours! It was really fun though. You can check out Terry’s post for more details on what happened that day. :P Guys, we have to do this again some day. I mean camwhoring is no fun when you are doing it alone. It has to be in a group! If you haven’t try it, perhaps it’s time to start. Here’s a step by step instructions on how to camwhore:

Step 1: You will need a web cam, mobile with camera or any digital cameras.
Step 2: Look into the camera and smile. Please check the photos to make sure you are in it just in case the angle is incorrect and you ended up taking a photograph of the tree beside you.
Step 3: Click on the shutter button.
Step 4: Adjust the angle or change your facial expression.
Step 5: Click on the shutter button again.
Step 6: Repeat step 4 and 5 for another hundred times.

Congratulations, you have just learnt how to camwhore and have fun!
