It’s the first time we took a family photograph with my uncle’s family. I’m definitely going to print these out and display them in my room. No words can describe how much I love my family. They meant the world to me.

I made the wallpaper above during one of my study breaks. These wallpapers can be found in the resources section and if you want to send some love over during Valentine’s, you can buy the prints over at deviantART.

While working on the wallpaper yesterday, I was thinking of things associated with the occasion. Things and words like hearts, love, balloons, teddy bears and the colours red and pink. I cannot figure out the connections between teddy bears, balloons and love. Does everyone who is in love owns a teddy? Or maybe they always held on to balloons when visiting theme parks? The latter is always the case in Korean dramas. When the protagonist fall out of love, they will usually be shown letting go of the balloon and the poor balloon will fly away. It reminds me of a scene in Princess Hours.

I can understand balloons during Birthdays but why Valentine’s? Are balloons considered sweet things for ladies? Balloons are sometimes also used to signify freedom thus explaining the release of the balloon. Releasing a balloon may also meant that the protagonist is letting go of the relationship. Am I wrong to think that it’s an inverse relationship with love?

My teddy bear

Teddy bears again reminds me of scenes in Princess Hours whereby the male lead gave a teddy bear to the female lead or the bear is a representation of one of the leads and they fell in love. Why bears? Pandas are adorable as well and most robots are cute. However most of the time, bears especially teddy ones are used. Why do you think that’s the case? What makes teddy bears so special?

Dad's extended family

We held our annual CNY gathering at home yesterday from evening all the way to midnight. It was fun as all our family members gathered together to catch up with one another. However, my mood was slightly disturbed by a young boy. All I could saw about him is that “he’s rude, naughty, ill-mannered, able to speak English well despite being quite young”. Now why am I getting pissed by another kid again. I told myself I have to be patience and tolerance against them but he went overboard yesterday.

Here’s the story… there’s this little girl of my mum’s cousin and she accidentally stepped on my foot. When this boy saw it, he came over and stepped so hard on my foot on purpose for like 15 seconds? He started laughing after that. I almost scolded “@$!%^@” at him but I didn’t. Mental note to self that he’s still a young boy. I’ve no wish to entertain him and exit the kitchen with my cup of herbal tea. And guess what he did? He pulled my legs from the back and I almost fell backwards. Thankfully my cup of herbal tea didn’t spill over, not sure if it’s because of my balancing skills or just sheer luck. Anyway, my mum saw what happened and got pretty angry. She carried him out of the house to look for his parents. His mum did not even bother to explain to the boy that what he did was wrong. What have the new generation of kids become? I’m wondering … …

Have a look at the kid (to your right please), perhaps I should label him as an insufferable as well. To continue the story, he taught the baby girl to step on other’s foot as well. That’s the thing about bad influence. Kids are too young to know what’s right and wrong. Parents should be the ones to educate and teach them. His mum was pretty nonchalant about her son causing a havoc at other people’s place yesterday. What has the earth come to?

Pretty pink nails specially for Chinese New Year

Can you believe that I actually did some spring cleaning this year? I was telling everyone I didn’t want to clean up my room this year. But mama “force” me into it. Mama and I spend more than 5 hours cleaning up all the “trash” in my room. I hate to admit it but I do have lots of stuff. I named them ” The Sentimentals”. They are things which are a part of me in the past. I didn’t want to throw them away but I don’t feel like looking at them now. I dump all of them into boxes for storage. Maybe I’ll take them out a few years later and laugh when I’m looking at them. I’ve a few journals written nearly 10 years ago and a family tree diagram drawn 8 years ago. Have a look at my accomplishment today.

And some good news … Missy has been accepted into the QBee again after 4 long years! I spend a few hours putting up my new quilt. It’s my favourite animal – The Panda! I’m looking forward to meeting the bees and their beautiful quilts and maybe at the same time learn a few pixeling skills from the masters.
