There’s isn’t anything happening in my life now. My life feels so unrealistic. I blame it on my studies, it labels me as a person without a life which I can experience and love. I’ll continue with this story another day. I’ve a strong urge to post about all the wows and woos on the Internet (personal opinion, please be caution), internet browsers, copying comments to the clipboard, captcha issues and here goes…

Google Chrome

I downloaded Google Chrome yesterday. The interface was surprising light and sleek. Loading was pretty fast for me as well which is a plus point. However, at the moment I feel that it isn’t comparable with Firefox due to the lack of add-ons available. It is those add-ons that make Firefox so convenient and a pleasure to use. I still hadn’t figured out why some many people (specifically 12.2% of my overall visitors) are still using Internet Explorer 6. I’m only complaining because my layout looks screw up in IE 6 and I don’t plan to fix it. I tested mine on Google Chrome and thankfully it looks normal as well. We should be moving forward, there’s a new version so the old one should be presuming flawed. I understand that IE 7 is slow for many people. That’s why we should be using an “environmental” friendly browsers like Firefox and not the devil. Pollution is not good for the environment, ya?

Teddy's ZeroClipBoard Tutorial

Why should we copy our comments to the clipboard before submitting it? I think some people might be asking this question. I am doing a bit of promotion for Teddy’s latest tutorial because I find it very useful. I always copy my comments before clicking on the submit button for various reasons.

I might be seeing an error page and my comments did not get submitted. This can be due to the internet connection, those stupid captcha images that even a human couldn’t figure out the wordings on it or whatever other reasons. When I click on the back button or return to the previous page, the comments is gone. Do I have to retype the comment? Can I still remember what I’ve type. Isn’t it a waste of time? I might as well buy some insurance by copying the comments over to the clipboard. Some might argued that we have keyboard short cuts such as ctrl-a (to highlight all text) and ctrl-c (to copy). This is true, but my fingers do get tired of continuously ctrl-a-ing and ctrl-c-ing whenever I post a comment. I prefer to do it with 1 click and reduce the possibility of having my fingers cramp. But that might be just me.

Bad Captcha

If you are using captcha, at least use something that a human can read. Sometimes I hate captchas because I can’t read it at all. Is it case sensitive? And and o and 0 is always very confusing. Overlapping text? I don’t have supersonic eyes either. Don’t give a maths equation that only people who study algebra can calculate the answer. I’m posting a comment, I’m not getting a maths lesson so there is no need for sin, cos, square root kind of equation. Simple addition, subtraction or multiplication would be sufficient.

Description Icons

I added descriptions icons for the articles and tutorials section. Articles with comments open for discussion will have a rainbow speech bubble icon and graphic tutorials will have a paintbrush icon. I didn’t want to segregate the tutorials because I don’t have a long list of them. I drew the paintbrush icons yesterday in 10 minutes, looks a bit rough though but I hope it looks like a paintbrush. Let me know what you think of this idea. Oh and did I mention that I just installed SlimBox 2? It’s a lot faster with a nicer design interface and has validated CSS as compared to the Shutter Reloaded that comes with NextGen. I shall end here today, part 2 will be up when I’ve the time to type it out.

The latest version of Firefox, version 2 is out for a while and I just got to know about it yesterday while surfing. Weird that my old version didn’t detected any updates but hey, this new version is pretty cool. It has an in-line spell checker, anti-phlishing (sp?) function, suggestions for search etc. And I’m loving it with a new theme I just downloaded. Speed wise, I would say a little faster then before? But all in all, a good upgrade not to be missed! I don’t earn from promoting ya? :hehe: School has been boring, all the modules are pretty hard to understand; at least for me. Maybe I don’t have that sense of logic required aka no common sense. =x

Sorry for not visiting any of your sites because I have been busy catching up with school, homework, DIY-ing but I promise Dayna will be back soon with lots more and of course, the site would be updated with a new layout and I’ll be active then
