I made the wallpaper above during one of my study breaks. These wallpapers can be found in the resources section and if you want to send some love over during Valentine’s, you can buy the prints over at deviantART.

While working on the wallpaper yesterday, I was thinking of things associated with the occasion. Things and words like hearts, love, balloons, teddy bears and the colours red and pink. I cannot figure out the connections between teddy bears, balloons and love. Does everyone who is in love owns a teddy? Or maybe they always held on to balloons when visiting theme parks? The latter is always the case in Korean dramas. When the protagonist fall out of love, they will usually be shown letting go of the balloon and the poor balloon will fly away. It reminds me of a scene in Princess Hours.

I can understand balloons during Birthdays but why Valentine’s? Are balloons considered sweet things for ladies? Balloons are sometimes also used to signify freedom thus explaining the release of the balloon. Releasing a balloon may also meant that the protagonist is letting go of the relationship. Am I wrong to think that it’s an inverse relationship with love?

My teddy bear

Teddy bears again reminds me of scenes in Princess Hours whereby the male lead gave a teddy bear to the female lead or the bear is a representation of one of the leads and they fell in love. Why bears? Pandas are adorable as well and most robots are cute. However most of the time, bears especially teddy ones are used. Why do you think that’s the case? What makes teddy bears so special?

My Samsung Corby

I finally bought some pop-up stickers from Urban Write to “brand” my Samsung Corby. I didn’t want to make it too fanciful thus I just added 2 little star stickers to brand it as my personal phone. I have to say this isn’t an original idea from me. This idea was from my current favourite show, You’re Beautiful. In the show, the female protagonist has a few pop-up stickers on her Corby as well. I love this idea because I find it really cute.

Mi Nam's Pig-Rabbit

I’m a Christmas girl and I love buying gifts for myself during the Christmas season. I admit I’m a huge fan of You’re Beautiful. Hence, I ordered the pig-rabbit toy from Korea for SGD 39! Mama never fails to get me a Christmas gift every year and this is her gift for me. =D It’s an extremely unique toy since it’s a rabbit with a pig nose. It’s definitely not the kind of toys you see everyday.

Isn’t it the most adorable bunny? It’s a huge toy standing at 55cm and I’m so excited to receive it. It will arrived in Singapore at the beginning of December. I’ll be posting photographs of my new toy then. I am thinking of naming it “Minami” after the female protagonist in the show. Sounds cute, no?

You're Beautiful

The last time I was so addicted to a drama series was in February this year when I was watching Boys Before Flowers (Kgotboda Namja). The previous time it was Kim Bum in Kgotboda Namja and this time it’s Jang Geun Suk in You’re Beautiful (Minami Shineyo). Both are fantastic actors though I would say Jang Geun Suk is the better of the two.

The series is about the behind-the-scenes life of a fictitious idol group, A.N.JELL. Jang Geun Suk and Lee Hong Ki are in search of a new member for their idol group. However at the last minute, the member suffers an injury and his twin sister has to step in disguised as him. The plot maybe be a bit cheesy but it’s hilarious. I absolutely love Jang Geun Suk’s acting and it’s a must watch show if you are a fan of him. This series has quite a number of parodies and my favourites are SNSD’s Genie and Jang Geun Suk’s parody of So Ji Sub’s phone commercial. It’s good to have some some laughter everyday. =D

I rarely get so addicted to a drama series but this one is too good! One of my favourite songs in this drama is Lovely Day by Park Shin Hye. I really like the soundtracks for this drama especially Lovely Day because the music is very soothing. To top it off, Park Shin Hye has a great voice.

Jang Geun Suk’s parody of So Ji Sub’s phone commercial is so hilarious. I think no one will ever feel the same listening to the song Breathless by Shayne Ward after watching this part of the show. =D

I can’t believe I’m watching the live streaming for this show every week (and watching it again on Viikii with English subtitles) even though I don’t understand Korean. I’m definitely rooting for the main leads – Jang Geun Suk and Park Shin Hye to be together. It’s going to be devastating if they don’t! Like I said, I’m a sucker for good endings and Jang Geun Suk has never gotten the girl before in all the shows he has starred in. Give him a chance dude, it’s time he gets the girl.

Boys Over Flowers

It seems like I haven’t been blogging for a while. As a summary, I’m busy with school and watching Kgotboda Namja¹. I’m a huge fan of YiJeong and GaEul. They are actually the “sidekick” couples in the drama but I love their story. It’s much more interesting than watching the main couple, considering the fact that I’ve watched all the other versions. In the Taiwan and Japanese version, the YiJeong and GaEul (Yuki and Sojiro) pair followed the manga and left a cliffhanger. One thing I really love about the Korean version is that they tried to develop the relationship of this 2 and hopefully give them a happy ending. I hate cliff hangers and sad endings. :cry: However, me and many other YiJeong & GaEul shippers wasn’t pleased that there were only given around 10 seconds screen time in each episode of 11 and 12. Maybe that wasn’t a big deal either since they weren’t the main couple. But why all the random scenes in between episode 12? Why do they magically appear at the ski resort? The plot was pretty mess up. Random scenes of YiJeong and GeEul was thrown in out of no where with no explanations. I’m not having high hopes for the next episode, we shall wait for next Monday. Oh and did I mentioned how charming and good looking Kim Bum is? He’s the perfect guy for the playboy role, YiJeong.

Okay, I’ve finished ranting about the show. I did some random updates here and there to the site last week.

• I am thinking of removing the questions page because it’s quite useless now. What do you think?
• Compiling one of my unused layout for Confession to the premade layouts for download
• Complete the graphic tutorial on creating a vector rainbow in Photoshop
• I have started making a set of extended smilies set to match the current smilies, hopefully I’ll get it finished soon
• Work on the Valentine’s gift for Mr Chewy & a Valentine’s gift for my visitors
